In 2010, Ames embarked on a journey she would never forget. Starting with the birth of her second premature son, upon returning to work from maternity leave, Ames was told to go home. To go home and “Be with her babies.” A sentence that, at the time, forced upon a new identity. Ames went from a working mother to a mother who should just be at home with her babies. She felt she had nothing more to contribute to society other than nursing and caring for two small humans.
Through the trauma of two premature births in less than two years, a complete hysterectomy, stroke, and auto immune diagnosis she found solace in the writing world. Writing short plays and stories as a young child, going back into those moments provided a sense of belonging and comfort.
Ames provides a safe and open environment to anyone looking for their own solace in writing. Ames believes that words and stories no matter how long they have been held captive should be preserved, so as they can be used as a tool, or to provide a haven for someone else.
Ames has over twenty years of financial experience and hopes to one day return to the fast pasted world of numbers. But, for now, her love and passion are writing and spending time with her family.
